最近とっても夏らしい暑さが続いているロンドン。
何年ぶりかでロンドンに夏らしい夏がやってきました!!!
そんな夏日の週末、とーーーっても久々にコロンビアロードへ行って来ました。
It's been very hot in London!
Finally, summer has come in London for the first time in years...!
We went to Columbia Road, it's been ages we went there!
コロンビアロードといえば、お花のマーケットですが、
かわいいお店のウィンドウチェックも欠かせません。
こちらはいつもウィンドウディスプレイをチェックする、キュートな文房具屋さん。
When it comes to Columbia Road, it is a flower market, but also cute shops along the street!
This is a stationery shop I always check the window display.
ブリックレーンやオールド・スピタルフィールズの辺りがどんどんハイストリートのお店に侵食されていく中、
このストリートは今も個性的なインディペンデントのお店が集まっていて、飽きません。
As the area around Brick Lane and Old Spitalfields Market has been changing a lot with high street shops,
this street are still full of interesting independent shops. Love it.
わんこがモチーフ? なキュートなカフェが出来てました。
いつか来なきゃ。
Is it a new dog cafe? I must come back.
コロンビアロードの中でも大好きなお店の一つ。
グリーンに囲まれた店内には、ステキなアンティークやヴィンテージ雑貨であふれています。
This is my favourite shop in Columbia Road.
They have full of green and antique & vintage items.
いつかお店を持つなら、こういうふうにお花と共存させたい!
One day if I have a store, I would love to have flowers and vintages like this shop!

最近ブリックレーンや、私の出店しているオールド・スピタルフィールズ・マーケット辺りの変化が著しく、辟易していたところでした。
昔から続いていたオールド・スピタルフィールズのアンティークマーケットまでもが今夏から縮小に。
今でこそウェストに住んでいる私ですが、来英当時からイーストに住み、イーストに通っていただけに、
オックスフォードストリートと変わらない町並みになっていくイーストエンドに、嘆かずにいられません。
ちょっとラフだけど、おもしろい個性的な店や人がいるからこそ、イーストエンドはおもしろかったのに。
若いクリエイターやおもしろいインディペンデントのお店たちはどんどん郊外に押しやられて、(家賃が高いために）
ちょっと前から、「ロンドンで一番おもしろいのはセントラルじゃなくて郊外だよ」と言われていましたが、本当にセントラルでおもしろいところはあんまりなくなってきました。
イーストエンドはその中でも唯一、セントラルに近くておもしろいインディペンデントのお店が集まっているところだから、もっとそのままでいて欲しかったな。
もっとどうにかできないんだろうか。
It totally beat me that the recent changes around East End.
Our beloved Old Spitalfields Antique Market will be shrunk from this summer too.
Since I came to UK 12 years ago, I've often come and lived in East London.
I can't help grieving that East End is almost same as Oxford Street now....
East End was great because there were interesting independent shops and people.
Young creators and small shops has all gone to suburbs a few years back,
but East End was the most interesting area near the Central London.
I wonder that we can do something for that......
この日はとってもいいお天気だったので、人の数も尋常じゃなく、
お花を愛でながら時どき立ち止まって写真を撮って…なんかは到底無理。
ただただ、人の流れに流されていくだけだったので、写真はこれしか撮れず!
It was a beautiful summer day and too many people in the flower market.
I couldn't take time to look at flowers and take photos, it was impossible.
I was just pushed by the stream of people....
でもせっかく来たのに花を買わずしてどうする!!
この日はアジサイがとってもきれいだったので、きれいな色のこのアジサイをピック。
But, you can't just leave without flowers if you go there!
Hydrangeas were so beautiful that day, I bought some.
この美しさで3本10ポンド。
さすがに3,4日でドライになってしまいましたが…
ドライでもきれいな色のままなので、しばらく置いておこうかな。
It was so cheap, I was so glad.
They are already dry, but still kept beautiful colours.
I think I should still keep them.
