Magical Lantern Festival ~ マジカル・ランタン・フェスティバル

先月までやっていた、マジカル・ランタン・フェスティバルの最終日に滑り込みました!
昨年から第一回があったこのフェスティバル。
ずっと気になっていたのですが、ちょーっとお高いので昨年は見逃してしまっていて...。
それが偶然、久々に会う友達が行きたい、ということになってこの機会に行くことにしました~!

We went to Magical Lantern Festival which finished last month.
I was interested in the festival last year, but we missed it.
Our friends whom we were going to meet up wanted to see this festival, so we decided to go finally!

場所はこの間から書いているお気に入りのチズィックエリア。
大好きなチズィックハウス＆ガーデンズです。
ちなみに昼間の様子はこちら。

The festival located in Chiswick where I wrote about recently.
It was in Chiswick House and Gardens.

大きなランタンのゲートをくぐると、幻想的な世界の始まり!!

Going through the big lantern gate, you are in the magical workd!

チャイニーズニューイヤーを祝うのが目的らしいこのフェスティバル。
テーマは毎年違うらしく、今年のテーマは「シルクロード」。

This festival is celebrating Chinese new year.
Theme changes every year and this year's theme was "Silk Road".

公園内には川も流れていて、川辺に建てられたイルミネーションが写りこんでいてステキ。

In the stream in the park, the illumination was reflected.  Lovely.

近くで見る迫力の巨大ランタンたち。
ちなみにこの前々日ぐらいには台風といっても良さそうな大嵐が来ていたんですが、
どうやって守ったんだろう...

Lanterns were huge!
A few days ago of the day we went, there was a big storm in London.
We wondered how they protected those lanterns.....

アラジンと魔法のランプの世界。

The world of Aladdin.

インドへー。India...

そしてシルクロードの終着点、中国へ!
このお城、実物サイズですごかったー!
中には入れたらもっとすごいのに!

And the last destination of Silk Road, China!
The castle was actual size and it was so huge!
I wished I could go in there!

そしてルミナリエみたいですごくきれいだったゲート。
ルミナリエ見たことないけど...

Beautiful gates.
It reminded me the famous illumination gates in Japan.

そして最後にはカフェや、スケートリンク、子供たちが大好きな小さな移動遊園地も。
楽しめるんだけれど、やっぱり冬場の夜は寒い!!
私たちが行った2月末はちょうどあったかかくなってきていた時期だったので、
それほど寒くはなかったけれど、真冬は寒いだろうな~。
ちょっとお高いけれどすごく楽しめます。
いいお散歩でした!

In the last part of this festival, there were cafes, skate link, and fair as well.
It's quite enjoyable, but it's only opened in evening in winer.  ......cold........
It was not bad when we went there because it was getting warmer at that time.
But I would say it would be very cold to walk in the festival in the middle of winter.
A little pricey, but enjoyable!!
It was a lovely walk!!
