Our first cafe hunting was a French bakery for an inspection of our galette des rois this year ;)
ポッシュなエリア、フルハムロードにあるオレー。
チューブの駅からはかなり離れているのですが、
普段あまり来ないこの辺りをお散歩しながら来るのも楽しい。
French Bakery cafe, Oree is in Fulham Road.
It is away from Tube stations, but it is fun to walk around this posh area.
入り口はベーカリーのカウンター。
本格的なフレンチブレッドがずらっと並び、おいしそうなサンドイッチやキッシュもたくさん。
別の日にバゲットも試したのですが、私の苦手なサワドゥじゃなくて、おいしかった！
You will see a beautiful breads when you get in the bakery.
Loads of French breads and sandwiches and quiches too.
I tried their baguette another day and it was not sourdough bread which I don't like, and very good.
奥にカフェスペース。
ベーカリーのメニューだけでなくスープやオムレツなどのランチメニューもいただけます。
There is a cafe space in the back of the bakery.
You can have not only bakery menu and also lunch menu which is soup, omlette and so on.
この日は祭日でしたが、月曜日だったので、平日のランチメニューがいただけました！
スープとメイン(キッシュ、サンドイッチ、クロックムッシュのどれか）とコーヒーか紅茶のセット。
相方さんはメインにキッシュを選択。
キッシュといえばタルト生地が多いけれど、ここのはグルテンフリーで、まるでスフレのよう。
It was a bank holiday that day, but still Monday, so we could have a weekday lunch menu,
which came with soup, a main dish (quiche, sandwich, or Croque Monsieur) and tea or coffee.
My mister chose a salmon and spinach quiche.
Their quiche is gluten free and it was like a souffle!
私はハーブ＆レモンチキンのトースト。
これがものすごくおいしかった～!
ぜひ家で再現したい!!
サワドゥブレッドは好みがあるでしょうけど、私はサワドゥの味がそんなに好きではないのですが、
ここのはあまり気にならなかったかな。
固目が多い中、ここのはちょうどよくっておいしかった！
とにかくチキンがおいしくてとまらない!
I had a Harb & lemon chicken toast.
It was really delicious!!
I want to make it at home....
I personally don't like sourdough bread, but it was very good.
Anyway, the chicken was so tasty!!
おなかはいっぱいだったけれど、ここにはガレット・デ・ロワの下見にきたので、ケーキを試さないわけには行かないでしょ。笑
レモンタルトはそんなに好みじゃないけれど、ここのは柚子＆レモンだったので惹かれました！
柚子とレモンのミックスなので、そんなに柚子!って感じでもなかったけれど、笑
確かに普通のレモンタルトよりはまろやかな酸味だったかな。
メレンゲもふわふわでおいしくて、よりいっそうまろやかな味に。
何よりここのケーキ、ほとんどグルテンフリーなのです!
相方さんがグルテンアレルギーなので、グルテンフリーのケーキはよく試すのですが、
やはりグルテン有りと比べると、 どうしようもなくグルテン有りのほうがおいしいのですが、
ここのはグルテンフリーっていわれなければわからないほど、本当においしい!
グルテンフリーだとぽろぽろ崩れるケーキやたるとですが、ここのタルトは本当にしっかりしてておいしい!
ぜひ他のケーキも試してみたい!!
We were actually full, but we came for inspection of galette des rois, we had to try their cake!! lol
I usually don't choose a lemon tart, but I was interested their one as it was with Yuzu!
The sour taste of lemon was suppressed by Yuzu and it became mellow.
And the smooth melange helped it even more.
And also, surprisingly, most of their cakes are gluten free!
My mister had gluten allergy, so we tried many gluten free cakes.
To be honest, gluten free cakes had never beaten normal cakes.
However, their tart was so delicious that you would never notice it is gluten free.
The tart was just beautiful and delicious as same as normal one.
I would love to try other cakes!
さて、肝心のガレット・デ・ロワ!
パイ生地がさくさくでおいしくて、さめても甘い匂いが漂ってくるほど、いい香り！
アーモンド・ペーストが私好みでなくて残念...。
(私はアーモンド・ペーストのあの特有の味?が強いのがあまり好きではないのです。）
相方はおいしいおいしいといっていましたが。
でもフェーヴがかわいいのは私にはうれしい。:)
(ちなみに私が当たりました!）
買いにいったときもフレンチの人たちがたくさん、スタッフさんもフレンチで、一瞬パリにいる気分になれました。笑
And, galette des rois!!
The pastry was light and flaky, it smelled so sweet even it was cold...!
Unfortunately, the almond paste was not my favourite....
(I don't really like strong almond taste...)
My mister loved it.
But, I really love this cute feve!! (By the way, I got it!)
There were lots of French people when I bought it, and also the staff was French.
It made me feel like I was in Paris. ;)
