京都のもう一つの有名な骨董市、天神さんをご紹介。
Tenjin Antique Market is held the 25th of every month at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.
Sugawara no Michizane, who is revered in this shrine, was both born and died on the 25th of the month,
so they started have a fair the 25th of every month.
北野天満宮で毎月25日に開かれる天神さん。
祭られている菅原道真の誕生日、逝去日が25日だったことから、毎月25日に縁日が開かれるようになリました。
The fair is famous as an antique market.
You can see all kinds of interesting stuff, such as very expensive collectable items, cheap junk, and so on.
こちらの縁日も、骨董品が集まる骨董市として知られています。
コレクタブルなお高い骨董品からガラクタまで、いろいろおもしろいものが集まっています!
I love these mugs, the mixture of the Western style and the Japanese style.
They were made to export to Europe.
I bought them and use for Japanese tea.
こちらのマグカップは洋風と和風が合わさったなんともいえない味のあるヴィンテージ。
ヨーロッパに輸出用に作られていたマグカップです。
私も日本茶用に購入、お気に入りです。
There are lots of food stalls too.
You must try some, those food are specially for eating at fairs.

この市が開かれている北野天満宮は、日本でもとても有名な神社。
その理由は…
Sugawara no Michizane, the spirit of this shrine, his deity is studies and knowledge.
Lots of students from all over Japan come to the shrine to pray for success with their exams.
I also did before I took the entrance exam of my university.
この神社に祭られている神様、菅原道真公。
学問の神様で有名なこの神様にあやかろうと、全国から学生たちが押し寄せます!
かくいう私も大学入試前に行きました。
Those so many wooden boards are votive offerings for success with exams! (I guess!)
数多く掲げられた絵馬はほとんどが合格祈願！(と思われます!）
The shrine is famous for plum blossoms too.
There is a plum blossoms festival in February.
They hold a Japanese traditional tea ceremony served by Maiko (Geiko) Girls as one of the Geisha district, Kamishichiken is near the shrine.
この神社は梅の花があることでも有名で、2月には梅花祭りが開かれます。
梅花祭りではお茶会が開かれ、
花街のひとつ、上七軒が近いこともあり、 舞妓さんがお茶をもてなしてくれます。
There is a famous sweets shop, Osagoro Mochi, established almost 400 years ago since they supplied sweets at the tea ceremony.
January and December market is usually bigger than other months as lots of people cerebrating new year.
I will go to December market this year, I can't wait!!
そのお茶会でお菓子を出して有名になった、創業400年ほどの由緒ある長五郎もちのお店もあります。
天神さんは年初めの1月25日の初天神、年納めの12月25日の終い天神が盛り上がるらしく、出店数も増えます。
今年は私も終い天神に参戦予定! (買うほうですが。）
